I AM FINALLY DONE! WHOOHOOO!:hardy:

PA 20 - 88.1%
QR 23 - 95.9%
RC 20 - 67.0% <-- 🙁
Bio 24 - 98.7% <--😀 YAY
GC 21 - 87.3%
OC 23 - 93.7%

TS 23 - 98.3%
AA 22 - 95.9%

My overall GPA is 3.71 and my Science is 3.68. I am applying to NYU, Stony Brook, UPenn and Tufts. I was wondering what ppl thought, What are my chances?? Thanks 😀

Here is my breakdown of the test:
I thought I did so much better in Perceptual than what I got. I probably made stupid mistakes. The angles were a little tough. And the folds in hole punching were a little whack.

I was expecting bio to be SOOO much harder than it actually was. I had no classification, and I spent a lot of time studying that. And there were no plant questions.
I forgot most of the Chem section. But it definately had less calculations than achiever/topscore.
Orgo was good as well. I didnt get any NMR.

Oh and one thing that I noticed was very different from any practice questions I did, was that there were no answer choices that said (A and B), or All of the above. Which is why I thought bio was pretty easy in that respect.

For Reading comp, I made a huge mistake. Since ppl said that it was more based on tone, I decided to do the kaplan method, and read it fast and jot down words that stand out. For the first passage I did that, which was a mistake. For the next 2 passages, I did it my way, and it was soo much better, and I had time left over. And there were alot of tone questions. Maybe if I did it my way from the beginning, I could have done better. But what can you do.

QR was good. There was a trig graph question. I would suggest skipping the questions that look like they might take a while, and come back to them at the end.

And to all those of you who are worried about the yellow laminated paper and a marker. DONT BE. I must say that it was better. They give you 3, so u can set it up like you would if it were paper. The marker is a little thicker, and you have to write bigger, but its still good.

I think I said enough, I am probably boring you all.

OH, I had a brownie and some soda in the break. That definately kept me going for the math section. B/c in practice I usually run out of steam and mess up at the end. But the brownie helped. LOL

Oh and I also used Kaplan, and took the course. I used Cliffs AP bio. Destroyer, top score and Achiever.

Hi, there
You did very good..amazing score... I was wondering if you can elaborate what you did for reading comprehension? what was your way?

Hey great job! I'm taking my DAT in a few days, but with your scores and grades, it looks like you shouldn't have to worry much. Did you find achiever helpful? You really rocked QR, OC and Bio-Congrats!

Hey DentalGrl, congrats, I'm so stoked for you, go out & celebrate tonight. For now, I'll be studying & living vicariously through you! This is my first day posting on SDN, but I've been here for a minute now, so I figured I'll join in on the fun and be apart of this cool family.

nice scores! I was just curious as to how long you studied for the test, and which subjects you put the most time into. Those are beastly scores!

also, were there exact questions on the DAT from any of your study material? and if so, what did you use?

excellent scores. Congratulations. I am sure with these scores u will be in. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Wow, nice job! everything was really consistent and really solid. congrats and enjoy the rest of your summer, you deserve the break. If you dont mind, could you share what your technique was for the reading comp?
Thanks

Great scores! Please tell us what "your method" was for the RC opposed to the kaplan method...

thanks and congrats!

Can you elaborate on what type of trig. graphing question you had. I remember hearing another member got one out the blue and was not prepared.

Hi, there

I basically read the question, and then I read (not skim) the passage until I find the answer to the question. If it is a tone question, then I skip it until the end. Then I go to the next question, and read the passage until I get to that answer. It might hurt you, if the second question is at the end of the passage and you dont know to skip it. It worked for me. But might not work for everyone.

would you mind revealing your topscore/achiever scores for us?

Achiever and TopScore:
Bio 19/19/17 and 20/22/21
GC 19/18/17 and 19/17/18
OC 17/17/19 and 19/23/25
RC 19/19/20 and 21/21/21
QR 19/19/22 and 21/19/23
PA 18/21/21 and 23/26/25

I've been reading that you need to sit for the entire 4 hours of the exam? How long and when can the break be taken?

After the perceptual ability section, and 15 min break.

Thanks. I thought achiever was helpful in practicing for the test. ANy practice is always good. But you dont want to tire yourself out b4 the test. So I wouldnt reccomend doing it the day before the test. I thought achiever was harder in the science sections than the actual DAT.

Nice scores you did excellent... Next stop Dental school.... I'm sure you're in Good Luck

Thanx! I studied since winter. But not 'really' , b/c of school. But. Since the end my finals, I studied about 6 hrs a day, maybe 5/6 days a week. Im just guestimating.
also, were there exact questions on the DAT from any of your study material? and if so, what did you use?
Some questions were similiar, But not exact. I used Destroyer, topscore and achiever.
Can you elaborate on what type of trig. graphing question you had. I remember hearing another member got one out the blue and was not prepared.
I dont really remember. B/c I skipped it since I didnt know it, and I just guessed. But it was a sin graph.

What schools, right now we don't know, but I can assure you that you will have your fair share of choices of schools to decide from before the end of the cycle.

Excellent job!!!!! Your hard work has finally paid off.

hey, those are some solid scores.
what was your PAT stratergy?
Did you go through Achiever's and TopScore's PAT test and practice from here or Kaplan's?
And for the RC - did you attempt to use "read the question", skim the passage until you see the section where the answer could possible be, and then read that section or you simply read couple questions and started reading the passage top to bottom until you found the answer.

thanks...good luck with the apps!

do you by any chance, remember what reactions were in your orgo section? Or what types of questions did you encounter in the orgo section? Were they really that similar to destroyer?
