I took the DAT a few weeks ago! Its finally over! The 3 months of stress were just compounded as I showed up to test and was told my Drivers License was expired! They gave me 1 hour to go down the DMV, get a new one issued, and get back. Such a great start to the day Id been dreading for months.

As I took the science sections, I wasnt feeling good at all. I didnt seem as confident of my answers as I did on my practice tests, and my mind was already racing about having to retake this thing and what I was going to have to tell people after I had taken off 3 months of work to study for it.

I was worried about gen chem, my weakest area, Bio felt a little better, and Ochem about normal. Reading and PAT went as expected, and QR, although I didnt score as high as I wanted, I was more worried about not finishing, I did finish, but maybe couldve taken a little longer on a few of them.

My scores:
AA: 20
TS: 20
PAT: 23
Bio: 20
Gchem: 23
Ochem:17
RC: 21
QR: 19

I couldnt believe I did this well. It felt more like a 17 score when I took it. Anyway, decent scores, should be good enough to get in. Im proud of my gen chem and PAT scores. I dont know what happened with Ochem, I think I just paniced, I did well in the class, and that maybe had some to do with it, I probably couldve studied a little more for it. Luckily, 17 is the requirement for most schools.

As I said before, i studied for 3 months. I followed the schedule sticky-ed at the top of the forum. It helped a lot to give some structure to study sessions. I used Chads, Kaplan books, Destroyer, Math Destroyer, Crack the DAT, Cliffs Bio. DAT Destroyer helped immensely once I had gone over all the material once. Top Score Tests I scored 17s, ADA tests were both 20s. I took 10 practice tests total.

Good job! Those are pretty solid scores. Like you mentioned, most schools have a cut off at 17 for any scores so you should be fine there. For us who have taken the exam before we know what it's like be done with the test so congrats!

Awesome job. That little mishap with the drivers license did not seem to affect your scores. Congratulations.

great job! must have been a crazy way to start the test. that's pretty amazing not to let it phase you tho. well done

That's crazy! Glad it worked out though and at least they gave you time to get it done so you didn't miss your test but I would have freaked out!

Congrats and good luck!

Congratulations! There is no feeling like being done with the DAT. Good luck with your application!

Wow, sounds like a rocky way to start off the exam with, but glad things worked out well for you.

Congrats on the stellar performance - you deserve it 🙂 !

Best of luck with the application process and keep us posted!

Probably UNLV. I wast planning on applying until next cycle, but after I took the test, I got kind of ant-sy and decided to go for it this year. I actually just submitted yesterday to 10 schools, top choices are: UNLV, at still, and utah. Gpa isn't great I have a 3.4 overall and a 3.16 science. 200+ service hours, 100+ shadowing hours.
Now its a waiting game I guess...

University of Nevada? I heard about it. How is the program there? With those scores, I doubt that you will have a problem being accepted.

Ha looks like we will be competing against each other🙂. I have nearly the same stats as you, applied to a lot of the same schools, and will be taking my DAT next week. Better yet, maybe we will be classmates. Applied in June to utah (roseman), UNLV, AT still, among 6 others...

Good luck and great scores!

what did you use for PAT. i am having a tough time improving my PAT score.

I did a lot of Crack DAT PAT, and actually my little brother in high school was awesome at top/front end becuase of his drafting class (i guess) so he gave me some pointers there. Honestly, it was just practice. It got kind of easy after a while(except angles, that's just a crap shoot) keep doing them over and over. CDP was worth the money for a 23 PAT

Hey good luck man, you will probably have a leg up on me since you got your application in so early, but hey maybe we'll interview at the same time. Good luck on the DAT, it feels so good to have it done. My advice, make sure your drivers license isnt expired 🙂
