Is it ok for me to take DAT after submitting my application?
This is my FIRST time to apply so.. I know nothing about this whole process. =(
I am almost done with AADSAS application but I dont have LORs and DAT score.
What do I have to do?
I heard if I dont have DAT score they wont even look at my application!
Also I know I have to apply early as possible ...( my GPA is low) ah.....

:scared:

welcome to sdn.. you'll find plenty of resources here.

yes you can submitt your aadsas before taking the dat's. but many schools won't consider you until your dat's are at least in.

you can apply and take the DAT later, chances are they will arrive at the dental school at the same time.

AADSAS will take about 2 months to get your application out to the dental schools (2-4 weeks to verfiy gpa, and 4-6 to send it).

ADA will only take about 1-2 weeks to send your DAT scores since they are computer based and you get your scores right away.

But the schools will only begin to review your application when you have the AADSAS part, DAT scores, and Letters of Rec, and then later the processing fee. Feel free to get the ball rolling with the AADSAS application even if you dont have the DAT scores (there is a place to put down the scheduled date of exam) or the LOR.

Good luck!
