Hi guys,
First off I would just like to say a huge thank you to all you guys, and this forums knowledge. I guess it might be a little early to say this, but I wouldn't even know where to start studying had it not been for your recommendations.
So test is on Monday at 8AM anyone have any last minute advice? I am starting to get very nervous about the math and bio sections considering those have been my weakest thus far.
I started about 2 months ago, and this is what I've done to prepare:
>Chad's videos - watched them all, made very good notes, watched a few of them again just for extra review. I did the quizzes initially, should I go back and attempt them again??
>2011 Destroyer multiple times for GC and OC, Bio about 1.5 times. 🙁 - made NC for everything I missed and reviewed (BTW for those that don't know/are studying right now, this book is SO aptly named, first time going through it I got about TEN right haha, but persevere it gets so rewarding when you nail each question).
> CDP - scoring in the 20-24's (only got the 5 test version)
>Cliff's Bio read about 2 times - made NC
>2011 Math Destroyer up to test 5
>DATQVault - Here I've been averaging in the 20's across the board, with higher scores in GC, OC, RC. With Bio Ive been barely able to break a 20 🙁 (will continue to work on this, I just can't seem to account for the random questions). I took another QR test this morning and got a 22 which has been my by highest thus far, but the test seemed a little easier (was also cheating with a regular calc lol). Timing has been a HUGE issue thus far for me with the QR, I don't know if its just me, or DATQ is being stupid but NONE of the problems on the test have easy round numbers that you can reduce or estimate like with Destroyer (and I've gotten pretty good at estimating). Im hoping someone will chime in and ease my fears with that??
Overall I think I've got a fairly good grasp of the all the subjects tested on the DAT, but with each of these sections I feel like they could easily throw something at me that I haven't seen before, which would cause me to lose my rhythm. Ive noticed while doing practice tests, I almost always do better if I have seen a similar problem before, or have some kind of idea whats going on. If I don't, I get frustrated and the rest of the test never seems to go right..
.
My biggest question is really, how confident can I be with the resources listed going into the test of having at least SOME kind of idea on the problem given. I just don't want to walk in there and get blasted with some questions on freshman bio lab stuff (I saw a recent DAT breakdown on here with that situation), or stupid questions with people names and what they did (I had a question like this on DATQ asking me who was the first person to be able to isolate amino acids in lab....)
If anyone has an any last minute tips to chime in I would absolutely immensely appreciate it, I have never put so much time and effort into something like this and to be honest I would be crushed if I didn't do well, especially going into the test semi confident with my studying.
Again, a MASSIVE thank you to the community, I think this forum has got to be one of the most pleasant and helpful places on the internet that I have encountered thus far. I look forward to contributing my own resources once I get done with the test. 😀
