Quick heads-up for anyone taking the DAT in 2026: the ADA is updating the Organic Chemistry section starting in April 2026. It’s going to be less about memorizing reactions and more about understanding mechanisms, synthesis-type reasoning, and spectroscopy interpretation (NMR, IR, mass spec).
Dr. Jim Romano has already updated the 2026 DAT Destroyer Organic Chemistry section with these changes in mind.
