Hey guys.

So I've heard from a few people that dental schools do not look at what percentile you got on the DAT; they only look at your scores. I heard from another person whose family member is on an admissions board for a med school and he said they only thing they look at is your percentile, they dont even look at your scores.

With this confusion, I wanted to know if anyone has called a dental school or knows FOR A FACT if they do/do not look at the percentiles.

I don't think it makes much sense to not look at them. I got a 21AA and 21TS and scored a 96%ile/97%ile respectively, while there are people on this forum who got 22/23 and have a lower percentile than I do. Maybe I just got screwed with a more difficult test.

I'd appreciate it if someone would like to share the info :idea:

Thanks!

the official DAT report that the schools look at DOES NOT EVEN HAVE the percentile. It is only for OUR own records. This is noted on your unofficial report that you get from the testing center.

"Only the standard scores are reported to dental schools. Through the use of standard scores, it is possible to compare the performance of examinees taking different editions of the Dental Admission Test."

med school is probably different.
