DAT prep class?

Just a quick question:

When I asked my dentist how he did on the DAT he said he did great, and he said he took a DAT prep class, kinda like a SAT type prep class.

I've never heard of anyone on SDN mention something like that so I was wondering if anyone here has taken a DAT prep class and how much did it prep/help you because apparently it helped my dentist.

Its like a Kaplan or princeton review class. From what I hear they are pretty hit or miss. Its also based a lot on how good your teacher is. There is a subsection on SDN for more info on the Kaplan class.

There's also another online prep class called The UMKC School of Dentistry DAT Prep Course-, its like 1/3 the cost of kaplan and taught by faculty of the UMKC school of dentistry, doesn't hurt to check it out, it will be waaaayyy cheaper than kaplan.

I'm not a big fan of a prep class and most people here on SDN don't recommend them, they tend to be a bit overpriced.

I bet you could be more successful if you followed the 8 week study program by dentalworks, and got the kaplan blue book, DAT destroyer, Chads Chemistry Videos, cliffsnotes AP Biology, CrackDAT PAT, and used those study materials!
