Hi
I'm from colorado and planning on taking the DAT this August. My Kaplan Stanly course was schedulled to start on July 6, 2010 and was suppose to finish 2 weeks before i took the testin August. However I just recieved an email from Kaplan telling me my course has been cancelled. My question is does anyone know of any other prep courses going on this summer, I am aware of the online class- but to be honest... I don't learn well with online.. I'm in a bind! help!!!

Hope you got your refund!!

I'm an advocate of doing it all yourself, can learn everything for much cheaper, and will probably get a better score too.

Kaplan BB (mainly for gen chem and o chem)
CrackDAT PAT
Cliffs AP Biology Review 3rd Ed
DAT Destroyer
MATH Destroyer
TopScore/Achiever Practice tests

Well below the $1500 or whatever the Kaplan course is.

the inclass course doesnt help much.
but kaplans materials are great. in all honesty, the online would probably be better than in class. you get to go at your own rate, so you can spend more time on your weakness and less on your strengths.

but you should still supplement the kaplan material with cliffs, destroyer, etc.

or do what baylor suggested

this happened to me as well, messed up my scheduling. i ended up taking the kaplan live online course, it is really good actually. theres a TA who helps each person individually if you have any questions, don't understand something, without slowing down the class. you can also ask questions directly to the instructor and they can address your question to the whole class as well. u dont have to waste time driving to the location for class and back either, thats a plus!

I agree with the above poster. If you were going to spend the $1500 anyway for a Kaplan's class, just take the online course. The material is the same and you can go at your own pace.

Their (KAPLAN's) subject tests are really helpful. But do try to get some other material such as Crack DAT PAT to practice for the PAT.

If you want to save $1500 and have the DISCIPLINE to self study, then get the materials mentioned by the 2nd poster and do it yourself.
