Hi my name is Katherine and I am getting ready to study for the DAT again. The first time I took it I only used DAT Bootcamp and I got a 18AA. I realized that I am not very good when it comes to independent studying and I wish to complement Bootcamp with live classes or tutoring. From what I have read only Princeton and Kaplan do this but I am not sure which one to pick. Has anyone else that struggles with independent study used either of them?

Independent studying is definitely really hard for such a large exam that covers so many topics. I was really considering taking one of the classes like you are when I was studying for the DAT, but they were just so expensive. More importantly though, I heard the two you listed were not actually great for preparing unfortunately. It could be worth checking out some free resources first, like study groups - a lot of students are probably revving up to take the DAT at the same time, so the mutual support is helpful! I really liked the Destroyer study group because there were questions posted every day that helped set the rhythm for my day when studying. Plus plenty of super helpful resources that definitely helped me score decently on my exam. Always do what's best for you, but I think this would be a good start!

Best of luck! 🙂

I have heard that as well but was willing to maybe go for it if it at least helped me stay on track. However your suggestion of finding study groups seems like a good place to start so I will definitely look into that. Thank you very much.

I highly recommend taking Dr. Romano's DAT prep course! Unfortunately, I was on a time crunch with my exam so I couldnt but I have heard only amazing things. I also used DAT Booster and PAT Booster to study along with Destroyer books and found them quite helpful.
