Hello,

Here is the wesite where you can purchase the DAT achiever from. I have not heard good things about Shaums. Maybe I'm wrong.

Are there any other sites or prep materials anyone recommends. I am in search of a problems/exams. I took kaplan and their study materials are great. However, I do not feel that they provided enough practice problems/exams. Are there any other sources that provide an abundent amount of practice problems/exams?

Please let me know!
Thanks!

chem: kaplan blue, and my text for additional problems
ochem: kaplans "orgo edge"
pat: barrons
qr: kaplan and princeton reviews GRE book
rc: figure out what strategy works for you by reading and answering as many passages as possible.

How would you evaluate the effectiveness of DAT Achiever in preparing you for the actual DAT? Do you think its worth buying? Any inputs would be highly appreciated. 🙂

Well I'm taking the DAT june 30th, I'm taking the kaplan course, I've already went through the Barrons book and I'm about to get into the Kaplan blue book, I have my original textbooks from chem and orgo, and I'm afraid by the time I order Topscore from online, it'll be too late for me to use it because of shipping and delivery, so what would you recommend with only about 3.5 weeks to study?

I used Schaum's Biology only. I found the separate orgo and gen chem books tedious and I did better just taking lots of practice tests. I took 8 total: the 2 in the blue Kaplan book (paper and cd), 2 in Barron's (watch for errors), 3 on Top Score and the one in the ADA booklet when you register (it's online, too). Taking tests is the best way to prepare in my opinion. You learn where your weaknesses are and you can beef up in those areas without wasting your time on stuff you already know. They are all fairly representative of what you'll see on the real DAT. You're scores will probably even go up. Good luck!

Fighting Texas Aggie class of 2002
GPA 3.89 SGPA 3.5 DAT AA: 22, TS: 22, PAT: 24
Applying Baylor, San Antonio, Houston, Colorado, Oklahoma

How would you rate the effectiveness of DAT achiever in preparing you for the DAT? Do you think its worth buying? Thanks for your help.

i have the schaums organic chem book. In my opinion it only seems to be good to use it as a supplement. I am using my old orgo text book as the primary source for studying. I believe rook also had the same book
Bruice - Organic Chemistry Fourth Edition (PRICELESS)!!!
In fact i'm pretty much using the same resources Rook used except for the MCAT exam crackers BIO.
