DAT Prep with MCAT materials

Hey,

Has anyone ever prepped for the DAT using MCAT materials? I signed up for the free MCAT prep course that my school offers which includes all the books and online resources. I also plan on buying additional DAT materials later but I want to know how useful the MCAT materials will be.

I wouldn’t use MCAT materials to study for the DAT. I would say maybe some of the organic and chemistry information are the same on both exams, but MCAT doesn’t include a lot of the same biology, math, or PAT. Also, the exams are not similar in structure at all.

As tempting as it may be because it is free, you really need to use materials that area geared specifically for the DAT exam. I have talked with students who have tried using MCAT materials and it just doesn't work.
