DAT Preparation: All the Advice I Can Get

Well Hey Guys am taking my DAT sometime in May or June, and so far I have obtained a Kaplan review Notes Book, but it doesn't have PAT practice, so I was thinking of getting DAT Destroyer and a buddy of mine who already took the DAT told me to use Barons DAT Prep book, and also a month or so before am actually taking the test, to use Top Score and Achiever to practice for the test. So I was thinking of use My Kaplan Book, Destroyer, and soemthing for the PAT(what do you guys recommend?) and also I found these Flashcards, online and I want to know if you think that they are worth purchasing?? (heres the link: http://www.flashcardsecrets.com/dat/) and Also as am studying from the Kaplan book am creating my own flashcards.

Use the "search this forum" option. There has been countless threads, recent too, that already address all this.

Destroyer doesn't have PAT either. Try Crack the PAT or Achiever if you want PAT practice.

For PAT I used Barron's prep for DAT book and Crack the DAT PAT. Also, Kaplan was only a decent beginning for DAT prep... NOT SUFFICIENT AT ALL. I took the classroom course on top of that. I am selling some stuff click on the link below and email me if interested.

The kaplan materials are a decent - kaplan gives you a good all around start on your studying, but is lacking in biology section especially. The kaplan book, I felt, was sufficient for chemistry, organic chemistry, math and reading. I would pick up a copy of Schaum's outline of biology or Cliff's AP bio to give you a more complete study guide for that section. Destroyer is more of a set of practice questions with detailed answers - its very helpful, but you'll want to do some book studying before using Destroyer unless you feel you already have a great understanding of the sciences. For the PAT, Barron's book has some great tips on how to tackle this section, but don't use that book for studying for any other section as overall the book is not very good. I also suggest you get a copy of either DAT achiever or DAT Topscore for some good practice tests. I didn't used flashcard secrets, so can't tell you. Good luck.

TopScore tests are very good. I strongly recommend you take advantage of them. On the other hand, Achiever is much much much muchhhhhhhh harder than the real test would ever be. I was scoring 21-22 on both KAPLAN and TopScore tests. Two weeks before the test, I started taking Achiever tests and my scores dropped down to 18. I was freakin out BIG TIMEEEE. So, I decided to uninstall the program from my PC and don't even look at it. Honestly, I think Achiever is a waste of money.
Do KAPLAN and Topscore, and use the material posted here for studying, and I'm sure you'll be fine!
