How will formation of an insoluble product shift the equilibrium?

24% A: [Correct] To the right

13% B: To the left

50% C: [Yours] Will have no effect

5% D: Will favor reactants

8% E: Depends on other conditions

As you can see, I, like most other people who answered this question, picked C because I thought solids and liquids do not affect the equilibrium. What do you guys think? Another qVault error, or is the answer really A?

weird 😵 i chose C as well.....

I can't find anything about this online..

Hopefully it's a mistake??? If not, I might need to go watch Chad's videos again! haha

ps...does qvault not give explanations to their questions?

I don't know if this is correct: if you form a solid, then you are removing the ions to form it. If you have less ions, then shift to right.

If a product is being formed, then the solution must be supersaturated, which means the solution is out of equilibrium (saturated solution) and will shift towards products, forming more insoluble product because it cannot dissolve anymore. I think that is the reasoning behind it.
