Hi everyone, I am taking the DAT soon and just curious about the RC section on the real exam. Are the questions laid out in order as the information appears in the passage or are the questions mixed up and not in order (like in DAT Bootcamp) ?

My method so far has been to read the first question and quickly map the passage with keyword notes. It has been working pretty well but I am just curious how the questions are laid out.

Thanks.

I found that the DAT RC was easier than DAT Bootcamp, I found my articles interesting and easy to read. Most of my questions were in order, only one I remember I had to search around for in the passage of one of my articles. My technique was to read the question given and speed read/ search and destroy, I use to do keyword notes, but would run out of time during DAT bootcamp, but the real DAT RC for me was easier. On DAT bootcamp I was getting 18-21 on my RC and 20-21 on Crack the DAT RC. On the real DAT I scored a 22 in RC.

Ok, nice! Thanks for the input.

Also, were the RC sections slightly shorter than Bootcamp? I thought I remember seeing somewhere else that the sections on the real DAT are slightly shorter.

I personally like the questions that are asked on DAT Genius RC. Try out the free test on DAT Genius and see if you like it. I would do both DAT bootcamp and DAT genius RC because they will definitely prepare you for the real DAT. I don't recommend Topscore RC or DATqvault RC.

As for OP's questions, the real DAT RC questions are not laid out in order. They are mixed up in a bunch just like what you see on DATBootcamp and DAT genius RC. Remember not all DAT passages are short, so you have to prepare yourself for the worse case.

Yes, there's no order to the questions - so they don't follow the order of the paragraphs. Try out some different RC methods - the whole point of having a method is to be able to locate the relevant information quickly
