DAT retake advice please
Started by Allaboutteeth5
If you're applying this cycle January would absolutely be too late to retake it, and if the end of August is the earliest you can retake it then that's when you should retake it. You'll want schools to hold your application pending updated DAT scores..some say to email them, others say to wait to submit the application. Best to inquire at each school what they would deem best.
Submit. Get a 21AA. You be fine

So summit the app before I retake in August and just indicate I plan on retaking?Submit. Get a 21AA. You be fine
Yes, my good friend was in the exact same situation as you this time last year. Retook in August and had acceptances in Dec and the aa ended up being a 19 the second time
I took it May 29 so I wouldn't be able to until August 29th! But I suppose that's the best option, thank you!Yes, my good friend was in the exact same situation as you this time last year. Retook in August and had acceptances in Dec and the aa ended up being a 19 the second time
submit the app ASAP... then send an email to all the schools you are applying to that you are retaking it.
some schools accept the Unofficial DAT print out to be emailed/faxed to them the same day after you take it so they can start reviewing you sooner than 2 weeks for ADEA to send out the Official score

I'm just not sure to mark that I plan on retaking...I don't think I will especially because I haven't even signed up yet.submit the app ASAP... then send an email to all the schools you are applying to that you are retaking it.

Your first post is "I got a 17AA, so definitely retaking" ... So... 17 AA needs to improve, especially if your gpa is low. Idk about your other scores but I'd retake it because you might risk wasting a year that could be fruitless with that score. I applied with 19AA, 21PAT, 19TS last year and I got 2 interviews that resulted in just 1 waitlist. I'm retaking in August too but you have to submit your app soon.I'm just not sure to mark that I plan on retaking...I don't think I will especially because I haven't even signed up yet.
Yes, I know I am retaking what I'm saying is I've heard that if you mark on your app that you are retaking the DAT that they hold your application and won't review it until after you retake. Therefore, I am wondering if I should not mark it and just send in my app so it's considered "complete" or mark that I am retaking and risk having my application put on hold.Your first post is "I got a 17AA, so definitely retaking" ... I think what's on the application as far as future DAT dates gets sent to schools when you submit. If you change it they might not see it unless you add a school after submitting.Oh and I just checked after you submit you can still change the DAT section
