I took DAT on 8/20 and received:
PAT 19
QR 20
RC 21
Bio 19
GC 21
OC 22
TS 21
AA 21

I know these are solid scores but my GPA is really low... sGPA 2.96 & cGPA 3.2... So I thought I would retake DAT in November and hopefully get 24+... I put "future DAT date" on my AADSAS application and would this hold my application from being reviewed with my current DAT? If it does should I take it off?? But then I'm afraid I would be rejected before re-taking the DAT..... please help!!

Do NOT retake the DAT. Those scores are SOLID.

You should be working on boosting that GPA.

You might have to do a masters, but with those DAT scores, you will eventually get in somewhere.

In my opinion, if you retake and do worse, it will look very bad with that low GPA.

If they get these scores, they may still review your file. I am not 100%. But I would not retake.

I only have knowlege on this subject via reading these blogs so I am not sure but from what some people say on here 24+ seems really hard to achieve and you have a low science gpa which would imply you are not as strong as other indivduals in science. Also as compared to other dat scores I have seen on here yours seem admirable in comparison so I would not chance a retake. Also I would start applying to a few back up postbac programs now so you do not miss there deadlines. Good Luck!!!!

I agree! Don't retake the DAT. You did pretty good and you might even get into meharry or howard. There is someone on predents.com who got into meharry with a 14 DAT and 3.7gpa!!!! 14 DAT!!!! That's so now fair but oh well. You should be fine.

Good luck

thanks guys - ok, so if i decide NOT to retake DAT, should i take "future DAT" date off from AADSAS application?>> DOES CHECIKING "FUTURE DATE" ON THE APPLICATION DELAY THE PROCESS??

Sometimes it does; sometimes it doesn't. I know for a fact that Penn will not hold your application unless you specifically call and ask them to. I think most schools won't wait. However, I just found out by aasdas update that UoP is waiting for my retake scores (November!), so I have to call them to tell them I'm not taking it again. It annoys me because I've been waiting to hear from them, only to realize that it was my fault that I wasn't hearing anything. Lesson: call and ask the schools you're interested in.
