Hello, I just took my 2nd DAT today. I am overall satisfied but I have a question regarding the scores.

First Dat

PAT= 23
QR=22
RC=19
BIO=16
GCHEM=18
ORGO=17
TS=17
AA=18

Second DAT

PAT= 24
QR= 19
RC= 15
BIO=19
GCHEM=20
ORGO=24
TS=21
AA=19

As you can see, I improved my science but my RC dropped. Do you think this will have a negative effect? I think I read it on some thread saying that dental schools look at only the highest scores from previously taken DATs. Is this true?

For studying,
QR, RC --> Topscore
PAT--> Crack PAT (much harder then the actual..)
Orgo --> destroyer odyssey, Kaplan blue book, DAT achiever, topscore
GCHEM --> destroyer, Kaplan Blue book, DAT achiever, topscore
BIO --> Cliff's AP, Kaplan Blue book, DAT achiever, topscore

Wow, nice scores, especially the PAT. Sorry I'm not of any help but I was wondering how good "Crack PAT" is. Do you think your success had a lot to do with that program? Do you think it helped a lot? Thanks!

great scores! your rc may be a bit on the low side, but those sciences should definetly outweigh it. as for your question, dental schools look at the most recent DAT scores..... they don't pick and choose your high scores from both of the exams. you are confusing this with the SAT. well, anyway, i hope this answers your questions, and i wish you luck! keep us posted on your progress

you greatly improved your scores.... you have one low score that the committe might average with the previous DAT, or might not look at.... good luck and keep us posted

Nice improvement🙂 What do you think you owe the greatest part of your imptovement to? (im retaking again in a few week...wish me luck!)

zomg since when did we start averaging DAT scores? The spreading of misinformation is strong with this one.

Good job on the retake. To what do you attribute the difference in scores? New resources, new study methods?

Well for PAT, I think Crack PAT is very helpful since it is so much harder than the actual test. When I did Crack PAT I used to get 18s and 19s. If you keep practicing your PAT using Crack PAT, I think you will do well on the actual test.

For orgo, I used the Odyssey (but this book contains more info than is needed) .
For chem, I studied Kaplan and Destroyer
For bio, after the first test (used Kaplan and Destroyer), I just studied Cliff's AP bio and reviewed Kaplan (fill in the holes) and destroyer a few days before the test. Cliff's contains more detailed info than Kaplan blue book. However, occasionally you will find a part of a section that is in Kaplan but not in Cliff's (brain, ear, eye...).

i feel you i improved all around but dropped 3 points on rc and qr the second time around. 20 to 17 and 19 to 16. I hope it wont affect us too much.
