So I know this question has been beat to death but I wanted some advice about a DAT retake.

I took the DAT on Dec 31st and received one interview this past cycle (am waitlisted). One big mistake I made was that I applied way too late. (AADSAS sent my app out Nov 15) My stats are pretty average too.

Science GPA: 3.5 Overall GPA: 3.62

PAT 17
QR 14 👎
RC 20
BIO 18
GC 20
OC 16
TS 18
AA 18

I know those scores are pretty low and my GPA is not great, should I shoot for a retake by July?

Thanks guys!!

Deff a retake..your gpa is great, but a 18/18/17 is not competitive. Where did you get an interview?

You probably should retake. I think you will be happy to know that your QR score, if unchanged after a retake, probably won't keep you out of dental school. I got a 14 in QR as well. I think the score that will be easiest to bring up is your OChem score. Everything else is fine. Work hard and dominate it next time.

With a good score on your re-take and an early application, I don't see why you wouldn't get into a dental school next cycle. Your OC, QR, and PAT scores are below average, so if you take the time to evaluate your study methods and use sufficient material, you'll be okay. If I were you, I'd get your AADSAS application submitted in June/July and you can send in your DAT scores when you take it in July.
