Hi y'all,

I've been scouring the DAT Discussion and I've noticed the warning that people generally do worse on a retake.

For someone like me who's considering a retake, this is somewhat frightening news.

Does anyone have thoughts on this, as to why people do worse? Is it the mindset? Is it the time crunch?

Thanks! 🙂

On this site, I don't think I've ever recalled seeing a motivated, smart studier doing worse overall on a retake. Often, though, one or two sections go down while the others go up. There is an element of luck to this test; you may get a biology section on your first test that aligns well with what you know, and the second one might not.
