DAT RETAKE? Please advise and help!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, hi! I am an applicant this cycle. My application is already submitted. DAT taken July,8,2014:
AA-19
TS-19
RC-18
Bio-18
Gen chem-22
Orgo-18
QR-17
Pat-19
I have 3.75 sGPA, 3.82 overall.
I am very upset with this score, and my chances to get accepted to NYU, Columbia or Upenn are ZERO! i applied to 11 schools. Some schools told me my DAT is below avarage. I am definitely positive that I can do much better second time, but I don't know if it is worth to retake in october for schools to reconsider my application to get in this cycle. Or maybe wait what will be and then retake and reapply next year. Please advise me what would you do if you were in my shoes?

I don't think your chances are "zero" anywhere. Your DAT is average/slightly below average, but your GPA is well above the average applicant's. Assuming the rest of your app looks good i think you will score a couple interviews. Only retake the DAT if you're positive you will improve.

i am positive that i can make it better. But if i retake in october how it might affect my application? Will it be late if new scores arrive by the end of october

We have very similar dat scores. I have 2 interviews. I think you are fine. Maybe not for upenn or Columbia but those scores and that GPa are solid together! I would apply. Only retake if you really want those schools. Not sure if October will be too late.

MWU-AZ and Nova. Your GPA is even higher than mine! Be confident. I think you have solid stats and if you really want to attend the Ivy League schools then by all means retake.

i looked at MWU, the only prerequisitive i am missing is anatomy. What do you think i can still apply to their school?

I haven't taken anatomy yet. I plan to though. I work at Northwestern and I'll get a discount by taking it through them. As long as you complete it before you start dental school, you are fine!

Yes, if you're applying to UPENN and Columbia your DAT scores are a bit low. Their average DAT's are in the 20's. Dont worry though, it's just an average meaning that they have accepted lower and higher. Your scores are fine overall and 19 AA and TS is considered competitive. Plus your GPA is above average. Relax and enjoy the ride!!!
