Hi everyone,

I took my very first DAT two years ago, and took it the second time last week. I wanted to get your advice on whether I should retake the DATs. Here are my stats:

In 2012,
PA 20 / QR 22 / RC 19 / BIO 20 / GC 22 / OG 16 // TS 19 / AA 20 //

In 2014,
PA 24 / QR 18 / RC 19 / BIO 20 / GC 23 / OC 19 // TS 20 / AA 20 //

I also have B.S. degree. My GPA is not so competitive though. My cGPA is 3.3 and sGPA is 3.1.

I feel like my scores are average but not enough to offset my low GPA. If I have to retake it, I can only take it in early August. So I will have to submit my application early, like in June, with my current DAT and say in the app that I am planning to retake it in August. Should I retake it? Or would I still have a chance with my scores?

Great improvement with PAT and OC. Not sure how important QR is, though a drop of 4 points is surprising. A 20 TS, 20 AA and 24 PAT is very competitive and I'm not sure a retake is necessary.

I have same score just like you and it my 3rd time already..Dont you hate when you dont know what to do next ...
My third time taking DAT score
QR: 17
RC:17
OC:19
GC: 17
BIO: 21
PAT: 20
AA:18
TS:19
sGPA: 3.2, oGPA: 3.12
I am a dental hygienist, good amount of dentistry experience, 2000 hours of volunteer
Should I apply this coming cycle in June, 2014 ? My DAT score is Ok, my GPA so below average? What should I do? Any advice would help.
Thanks

Don't take the DAT anymore. Apply EARLY to as many schools you can afford and hope for the best. I think your background as a hygienist will help.
