DAT retake

Does anyone know whether I can choose not to retake DAT or not, if I wrote the future DAT date on primary application?

Since my GPA is pretty low, I was thinking to retake DAT and get a better score. But then I got 3 interview invitations recently...

If nobody in your interview brings up the fact that you said you were going to retake it , you should schedule your retake for after Dec 1st. Then if they accept you as-is, you could just cancel the test. Otherwise if the interviewer brings it up, you could just ask him flat out if you need to retake it.

Well, obviously, there something about your application that is getting you the interviews with a low GPA. Even dental schools claim that YOU CAN NOT QUANTIFY THE STUDENTS meaning that there is more in you as a human being than a high GPA and DAT per se...don't bring it up and go on with your interviews...you wouldn't have gotten three interviews if you DAT score was low...I think you are in a good shape...

well..I guess I got moderate DAT scores except on the reading comp part..I did reallly baddddd 😀 bio:18 chem: 20 orgo: 19 QC: 21 PAT:26 RC: shame..


I'll see if they mention about retaking DAT during interviews 😀 I guess I'll stick with the one I took. Thanks Guyz! 👍

Yes, but it could also be that they would have accepted even if he didn't indicate his plan to retake it. Maybe they'll overlook that. I'm assuming they wouldn't interview him until after the retake if they were concerned about his DAT scores.
