DAT Retake

I had a question regarding the retake of the DAT. For this cycle, I’m on two waitlists and still pending decision for one school still. I’m gonna start studying for the DAT just in case if I do not make it this cycle. My question is, how early should I take the test? The application cycle usually opens around May 15th. My PAT of 16 is what is holding me back in my opinion. I have an AA of 19 as well, not the best, but not too bad either I guess. So I do have scores to send in once the cycle opens. The dilemma is, I do not want the d-school committees to start looking at applications before I get my new set of scores in. I’m assuming they don’t immediately start reviewing applications. Does anyone know around what time most schools generally start to look at applications, a month and date perhaps? I was going to plan my retake before that time. Thanks for your help!

im in a similar position, except i havnt taken the DAT yet at all, I am planning on taking it on June 11.

Is it best to submit my AADSAS application asap (~late May~) and then later just forward my DAT scores, or do you just wait to submit AADSAS until you have your DAT scores?

this is my first time through the cycle so I am a bit unsure.

DanNuch i think your DAT date is perfectly fine. your application will get to the schools early if you take your DAT at that time. that is also saying you submit everything else early.

@ OP, i think you should take the DAT around the same time as DanNuch. i even think taking it in july should be alright. just make sure it is early july. i think that is when dental schools start looking at applications.
