Hi, I took the DAT and did not do as much as I wanted. If I retake, how can i let the school know that i want to do so? do i have to send my current score to the school i applied already to? if yes, should i call the ADA to send them a copy? also the retake will be late in October, is that too late?
I am sorry i asked many questions.

any advice is appreciated.
Thank you

That depends on how bad you think you did. Averages for the DAT vary a bit, but theyre usually in the 17-18 range. So if you are close to that, you might've not done as bad as you think. I'm not 100% on this but october, would be midway in the process and even though its technically not late, it'll be overlooked by schools unless you somehow let them know that you are planning to retake it soon. I think u can do that on the AADSAS. It all comes down to money n time, if you think its a good investment to retake it and give this cycle's application a better fighting chance than thats what I would do. If not next year you are gonna spend even more money on applying again, but you'd have the DAT scores from october to lie back on. Good Luck

Hello, I appreciate your advice. my AA/TS/PAT were 17/18/19. I have 15 in RC and 16 in QR. also my GPA is pretty low (sc and bcp = 3.0) and I will graduate next year. I have a lot of volunteer and a lot of dental experience. Do you think i have a chance with these numbers or i have to retake the DAT?

Thank you

With the low-ish GPA you need to knock the DAT out of the park. Retake highly recommended. October is a kinda late in the cycle but if you kill the DAT retake you should be ok.

Good luck!

I honestly don't think you have a chance and I am very conservative in telling people that.
