DAT Score advice?

Depends what state you live in, but generally you should retake it. Your dat scores are below avg of acceptance of many schools. Your g.p.a is great though esp w engineering.
If I were you, I'd retake esp because being international it's def more competitive to get in at many schools. Try to get a 20. If running out of time was your main problem them take more practice tests. You could still retake it end of aug and apply. You could submit your app before applying so by the time you retake it they would have just mailed it to schools. But then you would want to be confident that you can do better. 🙂 good luck!
Yea my main problem was that i didnt do very many timed practice tests. I went through all the destroyer Qs, watched chad's vids and made notes. For Bio, read KBB, Barrons DAT book, and watched think well vids for Bio. Also used my Human Phys text book as reference. I felt like i knew all the material fairly well.
For PAT, i used CDP, and was getting 19s. I was expecting to do a lot better on this section.
I wish i had done more timed practice tests. Big mistake. I was very disappointed.
If i wanted to retake it, i wouldnt be able to do it till October... is that not too late to be applying this cycle?

If you took it in October, you would still have a shot in post December interviews...many of which are for waitlist spots. Hope you have a plan B, just in case. I would still apply if other aspects of your application are very strong. Some schools may have their eye on you if you do pull through on the DAT a 2nd time. Best of luck~

Being an engineer is not gunna help since dental schools look for science classes and science majors be that bio or chem. They won't take pity on that you took extremely difficult courses in engineering for the major (I know they're difficult because i've seen my friends books and I didn't understand a word) but luckily you got through with an awesome GPA. Even though I know tests are more representative of how you take test than what you know, If you didn't do well in the science section It could raise up red flags. Your scores aren't terrible and your gpa is good so in my opinion if you have the money apply now and retake the exam for next year if you don't get in.
