I took my DATS in June. However, I wanted to retake them in September and that is what I had originally indicated on the AADSAS form. However, I received 2 interviews so I decided not to retake them. During my interviews, the interviewers never mentioned anything about my retaking the exam.

Do you think they will be waiting for my scores before they accept me?

This should have been a question that you asked during the interview. Since it's after-the-fact, I suggest that you call and ask. Maybe ask about the date deadline also. If you're too embarassed, just dilute it with some other questions.

what do you mean by date deadline?

I didn't mention it during the interview was because I was waiting for them to say whether or not my scores were acceptable or not. I didn't think it was appropriate to ask if i should retake the exam. I assume that if your scores aren't good enough they won't invite you to interview at their school at least not on the first day of interviews. So I decided not to retake it because they didn't mention a word about my scores during the interview and it was very very open file...

Dentist 2 Be, you should fix it asap. Just call the schools and explain your situation. The best thing to be is honest, as awkward as it might be. Of course its awesome you got interviews without retaking the exam, and so take that as a SUPERB sign that they love ya without. However, it's true...they could be expecting these second set of scores. Honestly, I think if they really were that interested in them they would have held on to giving you an interview invite until later in the game, but they didn't...so it apparently isn't THAT big of a deal. However...you still need to straighten it out... Have faith that all will work out for the best, just be upfront

maybe something to the effect of "i feel that my current scores are a good reflection of my abilities" ?

hangonsnoopy: LOL if i say that then they will think im a ******* lol...i didn't do too well 🙁

I understand why you didn't want to draw attention to your scores. I believe that some schools will invite you if you promise that you will retake the DAT and score a (fill in school's recommendation). Usually they would mention it in the interview. Since they didn't, I wouldn't assume anything. Your interview is not a guarantee that you'll be accepted (I'm sure you already know that). When they compare you to the other applicants that have already been interviewed, you don't want to be eliminated just because of a point or two on the DAT. It can't hurt to ask them. I'm sure they get tons of worse questions every cycle. Better safe than sorry. By "check the date dealine", I meant that if you have to retake your DAT what is the latest date for you to submit it and not be waitlist material. Good luck!
