hi snd. so my score is aa21 ts22 pat23. my rc was 19. as previous thread said, my parents are suggesting me to take it again to get higher score. my opinion is that my score is good eneough but my gpa is holding me back from getting an acceptance (applied alots of school in september verified october) sgpa 3.1 and ogpa little less than 3.4. and im doing a masters program now for a year to increase mt gpa. currently im really confused. everyone is saying i should not retake but my parents keep saying its is a low score. the stress is kicking in now 🙁 any suggestions?

Sorry but your parents are clueless. That's a great score! Do not retake. Continue to improve your GPA via your masters program and you should be good to go this or next cycle

I would not retake the DAT. I got 17 in RC and was accepted to one and have an interview at another and I only applied to 3 schools. What's holding you back is your GPA, not your DAT.

You DAT is fine! Best of luck!

The reason why your parents or whoever might be telling you to retake is because your GPA is less than average. So basically, you can either try your best at increasing your GPA through this Masters program or by retaking the DAT and hoping for at least a 24 in both AA and TS, or you can try both.

Increasing your GPA is probably your best bet as I would think it's slightly easier than gaining +3 across the board on your DAT. Like others have said, if you are able to increase your GPA, you really do not need to increase your DAT.

Your DAT score is GREAT. So, it's probably more difficult to achieve higher score than what you already have. I think you would have had much greater chance if you applied earlier (say... in June). Keep your hopes up! And even if you don't get in this year, apply again early next cycle with improved GPA and the DAT score you already have. You'll get in.

That is absolutely not a low score. I had the same TS and AA as you a PAT a whole SIX POINTS lower and was lucky enough to get 10 interviews. DO NOT retake, work on improving your GPA and the other aspects of your application that you can, apply early, and hope for the best. Those scores should definitely get you some interviews if you apply early and to enough (and the right) schools.

Thank you guys. I found out that my overall and science GPA won't increase much because as it is already low. Does D schools see graduate GPA separately? I think I will end up with 3.6 grad. Is upenn out of site?

Yes they absolutely do... 3.6 in grad is pretty good. My friend had a 2.9 undergrad GPA and she had 3.6-3.7 grad GPA when she applied and was accepted.

Good luck! Just work on your app as a whole. You should find some good news along the way

DO NOT RETAKE!! Scores look good. I have a Total: 22 AA: 20 (math 16 reading 16) GPA 3.2 still got into dental!

My dat and gpa are lower than yours.(18 reading) Still got a few offers. Starting school this fall. How are your extra curriculars?

First, what do your parents know about dat scores or applying to dental schools???

I had 19 aa with 17 in rc.

6 predec and 2 post dec interviews with 3 acceptances on dec 2nd

I'd worry more about your gpa if I were u...

What else did you have to bolster your application? I know there are people with 22's sitting on the outside looking in at the big interview getters.
