DAT score question!!

So I just took dat today.. and I felt like I failed horribly because.. I did not pace myself properly.. I thought too much during the biology section because I somehow found the section really hard so I didnt finish OC in time.

so here's my score breakdown

PAT 18
QR 21
RC 22
BIO 18
GC 21
OC 15 😡
TS 18
AA 19


I have a cum gpa of 3.54 and science gpa of 3.6 and gradauted last May

I applied to my state school and NYU. Do you think I have any chance??
Should I inform the school that I will retake the DAT?
Please advice me!!

With the exception of OC, all of your scores are above the national average. It may look bad compared to SDN breakdowns, but keep in mind those are a very small percentage and do not accurately portray the national test results at large. That said, the OC score may hold your application back. Lots of schools have certain cut offs and I'm not sure if OC is one of those sections. I'd suggest looking at the website/calling the schools your interested in to see how your OC score will hold you back. Otherwise, with a 19AA and a 3.6 GPA you should be fine.

hey all other sections and 19aa is lookin good, but the oc score is pretty low.
i know that schools have cutoffs for rc and pat, but not sure of science section.
u might want to call the schools and ask.

hey your scores and GPA are definitely great but I know a lot of schools have cutoffs of 17 for most sections. you should check websites/call the schools to find out.

I would definitely as other people have said to check right away with your schools if they have cut offs...you don't want them to pass you up just cause of one score which they might do if they do have cut offs!

Otherwise your scores are good what a bummer

Give the school a call. Let them know your situation and see what they advise you to do. I would say retake with that low of a score in the science section. this will give a much greater chance at getting ito any school.
