Too bad 🙁 I hated having to wait another week just to see my DAT score get sent out. Made me feel like I am super late in the game. Your score will be sent out by next Friday for sure.

AADSAS seems to charge a lot of money for no reason

I am just afraid that the schools may not wait until my DAT gets updated and make a decision. I already got a rejection from one school and I guess I suffered a big blow to my confidence for this cycle.

Do you think it was the school not knowing that your DAT score is going to come in? I highly doubt that any school will fully review ANY application if any of the necessary components are missing, in this case your DAT score. Did you have the chance to ask them why you were rejected? Btw I am sorry to hear you already got your first rejection 🙁

We have very similar stories. I had an old DAT score on file that I of course sent to all schools. However, I re-took it a few weeks ago and did a lot better (18AA/18TS/17PAT in 2011). Anyhow, before I finished with the most recent re-take, I e-mailed ALL of the schools I applied to and asked them to wait.

Well, as my app started to make it to the schools, many, if not all of them, looked at it as complete since there was nothing really missing (except secondaries at some because I put them off until I finished studying for the DAT). I got a rejection and promptly asked the school if they would mind waiting for my new score. They said OK and "un-rejected" me.

I took the new DAT and requested that my new scores be sent to all schools. As of now they still have not been sent and will be sent this coming Friday. I took the test 8/15 BTW. So, in between me taking the test, and the schools receiving the new score, I was re-rejected from this school AGAIN. They must really not want me :cry: Oddly enough, my AADSAS for this school says "Please check back on December 2 for more information regarding your decision status with this school" so I guess this is still a rejection?

They cannot consider your application until everything is there. With me though, everything WAS there, I just wanted them to hold their horses.

It's the first, and it probably won't be the last. I just need that ONE. Their loss.

The thing is I already had taken DAT multiple times before, and my previous DAT score (not the most recent one) DID meet the school's minimum requirements (everything over 17, I think) and it is "complete" upon the eyes of the adcom.

Wow. How can they re-reject you? Their loss seriously.

I am in exactly the same boat; my previous DAT scores were in and the applications were deemed complete, so without waiting for my new scores they just started reviewing my file and rejected me so quickly after I paid my secondary app fee.

I also emailed EVERY SCHOOL that I applied for, to make sure they know (what's the point of putting in future DAT date on our AADSAS app if they are going to overlook it?) I retook the DAT and some schools will hold, or take unofficial score report, or continue on without waiting for my new DAT scores.

Good luck and let's hope AADSAS will send out those reports this Friday!

Took the DAT on 8/23 and, not surprisingly, no update yet.

On a side note, I went ahead and ordered an "official" copy of my own report from the ADA, so whenever my scores are uploaded, I may be able to comment about when I received the official score report vs. date uploaded by AADSAS.

Doesn't it cost you extra to order an official report for your personal use?

Yes, the personal report costs extra, but I wanted it for my own complete records.


Also, I had inquired with the ADA about my own report processing time and a very nice gentlemen/ADA employee gave me the following update today:

Your exam was just scored this afternoon so the schools you listed on your application and AADSAS will receive your scores today. But it's up to AADSAS on how long they take to import them. And your score request should now get processed within 24 to 48 hours.

That's actually a very nice piece of info there thanks to you. I also had to request an extra copy of the official report to be sent to the Army health recruiting office for the HPSP application and didn't have a clue how long it will take. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Just a quick update. Under "Dental School Designations", now it says 09/06 as the second mailing date.
It looks like it will finally be sent out this Friday.
