I'm applying for the 2008 cycle and took the DAT's last week...here are my scores...

Bio 19
Gchem 20
Ochem 20
RC 20
QR 20
TS 20
AA 20
PAT 21

My GPAs are 3.6/3.4 and I am really hoping to get into Michigan. Do you guys think I should retake since I have time or do you think I'll be ok with those scores? I'll also be applying to UDM, case, and a few others. Let me know if you think I'm ok with those scores or if I should try to improve. I think I could do better on the sciences (especially bio) with more studying but don't want to have to go through that again. Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

As for my studying...I only prepared for 3 weeks over my winter break. I used a little kaplan, topscore, and achiever, but found the destroyer to be most helpful. I called Dr. Romano 2 days before the test and he was a huge help in going over problems and areas to focus on. I'm hoping my scores are good enough but it seems that 20 isn't really what it used to be.

great scores i envy you. BUT
your scores look a little below average scores of acceptance at michigan, so you could either study little bit more (you are really smart to get those kind of scores in such little amount of study time) and rise your score or work on your application by making your self stand out compared to a normal applicant.

Just remember that the average student on predents.com is not the average student accepted at Michigan. The better students tend to visit sites like SDN and predents.com. Also, students with better numbers are more likely to post them on the site. Use the ADA numbers when evaluating your chances and not the student provided information below.

Also, good job on the DAT.

on that note: i think greenbean has a really good chance of acceptance at dental school

Those are very good scores unless you feel totally confident that you can do better i woudlnt retake it. Their consistent throughout which is what they like to see. Hope that helps!

Your stats are good considering the fact that you are above and slightly above the mean for their class of 2005. (AA-19.48; PAT-18.19; GPA (o) 3.46; and GPA sci. 3.34). www.adea.org/Resources/OG/OG_3_WhereToApply.pdf
(Keep in mind, however, that there were 1,715 applicants for 110 spots).

The information in www.predents.com/?page=school is of limited value not so much because of the limited number of applicants that the supplied the information, but rather, by virtue of the fact that population sample is not a random sample of the applicants.
