haha u replied before i was finished with the poll, please put your scores in the poll
AHAHAHAHA!!! I guess that's true to a degree as the "average" score is supposed to be 17-18ish... while it appears to be 22-23 here on SDN... but then again, many SDN'ers are insane and/or sleep deprived, so I'm not surprised at the ridiculous scores.People on SDN who post their scores are freaks and/or liars. Take me, for example - I'm both. I'd take these results with a grain of salt.

Most SDNers are serious about D-school. that's why we're here right?
I agree.
I think averages will always be the same. Isn't that the purpose of the scaled score reports?? Although the latest SATs were all jacked up from what I heard. Had all the yuppy parents threatening to sue and stuff.

True I would say about 90% of people on here, but just because you are serious doesn't mean everyone is honest. When doing the pole I expected a mean for the SDN population to be slightly greater then the whole. But the amount of 20++ is disproportionate. I found SDN on accident and most people stumbled upon it while doing D-School research, so SDN should be a relatively acurate sample of dental students. I say an average here 18-19 not 22-23.

i've found that most of my pre-dent friends that don't know about SDN have scores in the 18-19 range. pre-dents that go through the effort to find resources like SDN are also likely to find better resources for DAT prep (Top Score Pro, DAT Achiever, KAPLAN, etc.) and consequently do better than the average pre-dent. those type of people are also highly motivated and will study hard on their own. that's why SDN people have higher scores IMO.

I think your right dude, but I still think the pole is skewed, just because I am a skeptic.
With any of these things you are bound to have some reporting bias, but the real reason the scores are so high is that if you spend enough time here the power of SDN magically raises your stats. Some users report increases of up to 9 points. Your results may vary.

Hmm, My score only increased by 3 points
I guess the magic didn't work too well on meomg if that is true.....
I am not on the right track...
23 is no longer a score...

We should make people submit official copies of their dat reports

hmm, a 24 on the AA of the DAT is ~99.5% (based on the result of one grade report). That would mean that out of 1000 people, 5 have 24 or higher. If there are 3000 applicants, there would be 15 people who scored 24 or higher.
As of now there are 14 people who report that they have 24 or higher. And 9 others report having greater 24, which would even make it more unlikely for people to score in that range, thus less people with 25 or higher.
Coincidence that a lot of people with very high scores visit SDN
