so I just recently took my DAT, and did not perform as well as I had hoped.

PAT- 19
reading comp- 21
orgo- 20
biology- 18
gen chem- 17
QR - 16 🙁

Overall Science: 18
AA: 18

I have a 3.6 gpa and a 3.4 science gpa... I am very involved in extra curricular activities... I have great letters of recommendation... and i have 100+ hours shadow experience.

Should I continue with the application or retake??

What did you use to study and why do you think you fell short? An 18 is the average for applicants, but a 20 is the average for the matriculated applicant if that provides context.

I used Feralis, Chad's videos, DAT bootcamp, Crack the DAT... I think I fell short in QR because I have never been the best at math and I ran out of time, however, I know that dental schools take a look into how you do in each category specifically and I have heard that QR is not their biggest concern?

Yes, it's mainly/mostly the sciences and the PAT, then come RC and QR.

Yea QR is the least weighted section. What happened gen chem and bio, you did fine in OC.

Hey man, keep your head up. If you did have to retake, you know what to focus on now. I heard the same thing about QR being the least looked at too. If I were you, I would use DAT destroyer for Biology and Chemistry if you do plan on retaking. Good luck man! I take my DAT on August 1st and im nervous as hell lol

I think you fell into the trap most people fall into every cycle: they rely on these resources and assume they'll get a good score with these resources. It's not the resource you use, it's how study. At the end the QR will not be a big concern but your scores are okay. If you can, I would suggest you rewrite. This time focus on the content and study everything thoroughly.
