I took the DAT last year and did just average. I will be retaking it in a few weeks. Should I go ahead and contact the ADA to send in my old scores from last year?

I didn't take the DAT for the first time until June 17 last year (almost 5 weeks after I submitted AADSAS). I was still so early in the application cycle that schools (with the exception of Case) didn't even care. I'd just wait and submit the scores all at once.

The ADA will send any and all results from tests you have taken each time you take a test. No exceptions.
