dat scores

Not great. Best chance is if you apply the day AADSAS opens up in May. Even then I doubt much will happen.

Try to boost your GPA next semester. No really, TRY HARD! Cause if you can get it up by even 0.1, that would be closer to the average.

Also, retake the DAT. The QR may *possibly* be overlooked, and probably only at certain schools. The RC is too low for almost all schools I'm sure. The sciences need help. And when all that is factored in, your AA suffers. You need at least one 20+ score in there, or solid 18s or 19s across the board.

Yes it's harsh but it's the truth. Good luck.

thanks streetwolf... I will retake dat, but how is it the meharry average is a 16? Surely, most who got in must have low dat scores...

It's a long shot getting into D school with DAT scores like that but it does happen to some. I wouldn't risk it and would probably encourage you to retake it.

if you apply to a school and get rejected, would it hurt your application for the other year, if you reapply the other year to that same school?

You really need to retake the DAT. If I'm not mistaken both Meharry and Howard have classes that are 80+% african americans, so being asian is not going to help much. Crazy that any dental school in the country would have an average AA of 16-17, go figure. Retake the DAT, get your GPA up to a 3.4 or better and you'll be fine.
