Sorry to hear about your losses. You clearly have potential, given your major and GPA, so don't dispair. Though I never took a Kaplan course, I've read a lot of negative things on the DAT forum and would urge you away from this route; hundreds of people have used the exact resources you listed and done quite well.

It sounds like you need a really solid schedule to follow ("due dates") to keep you on track. I would check out jimmpannzee's breakdown- I liked the 3 week schedule he has posted. If you feel like you need more time, expand that schedule (ie, take 2 days to do what he has listed in 1) and repeat as needed. Best of luck on round two, you got this.

Wow, that's really sad! Yea, just study those materials again for at least a solid month or follow one of the plans suggested by 99 and immediately take the DAT. I had success just setting goals for the materials I wanted to get through each day and then tested myself with destroyer. You'll be fine. I'm impressed you got a 17 after all you went through. Just apply with that score and tell them why, life happens.

*I wouldn't waste your money or time with a course. mo

My personal thoughts, DAT courses are a huge wast of money. To me, the only benefit of them is because you payed so much to be enrolled in it, you won't blow off studying. It gets your butt in a seat. If you can muster the motivation to be dedicated for a solid 8 hours a day or so for 6 weeks, you will do just as great on the DAT without dropping all that money. There is nothing that the instructors of these DAT prep courses say that can't be learned on YouTube now days. I think prep courses are ancient.
