Just had to reschedule my DAT to the 4th of August due to a constant battle with being dizzy everyday for the past week. Not sure if it's the month+ of studying 6-7+ hours a day, or if something's wrong with my eyes.

Hope everybody else is having a better time with this test!! Definitely hope I don't have to do this all over again.

Dude, cut the studying to like 4-5 hours a day MAX and take breaks in between. Drink lots of orange juice to up the blood sugar!

Dude, eat well and do some exercise. Don't lock yourself entire day.

I am taking my exam on August 2nd.
My study schedule:
7-1pm -work
1:30-3:30- study
3:30-6:00- Gym and chill time
6:00-10:00- study and 5 to 10 minutes break every hour.

I am drinking lots of water and eating high-fiber foods. Getting my mind fresh everyday.

I agree with the above posters. I took my DAT today and my study schedule involved getting up at like 6 AM and basically studying all day with no breaks or that much sleep for a few weeks, and I felt good with things half way through that time, but then stuff started getting all jumbled up and fuzzy in my head and I was taking longer on things and double-guessing myself too much on even simple things--and I think it affected how I did on the actual test!

If I could do it over again, first thing I'd do is get in a good-normal amount of sleep everyday 😴 and take bunches of study breaks so I can give myself some time to breathe and soak things in. Studying non-stop just stresses you out to the point where you don't feel right or can't think straight and things you do/study start to go to waste.

I am getting this feeling now as well, numbers are running around in my head and I am making stupid mistakes or misreading a sentence and missing small details like this is liquid that is gas.... :scared:

I feel you guys on this. Getting breakouts on my beautiful face. This is unacceptable. :scared:

Omg, exactly! I missed questions simply because all this random stuff was going through my head or I mistaking parts of sentences for saying something else than what they actually said.

This one time I had a GC question asking me whether a rxn shifted right or left and I got it wrong, couldn't figure out why, and then I realized that my thinking was correct, but I was so sleep-drunk I'd mixed up which way was right and left. 🙁 I'm telling you, sleep and time for calming down are what you need! You might feel bad and guilty for taking time off, but it's worth it totally.

Lmao, I just didn't go out in public for a few weeks just to avoid having to worry about that. My family's been blessed with the sight of my no make-up face for the past three or so weeks. 😛

I've got Bronchitis... sucks... been studying nearly 12 hour days for the past month lol

Today on my topscore, I missed out a ochem question asking for the enantiomer of a 2-chiral carbon compound.

I completely missed the enantiomer part of the question and answered incorrectly because of that.

there are a lot of other mistakes that I am missing because of that.

It is so frustrating!!!

Maybe I need a day to relax.

Haha, glad I'm not the only one getting beat up by this thing. I felt fine until last Monday and since then I felt terrible, and studying just isn't really getting anywhere. Glad I pushed it back a week, will give me a few days to just completely drop studying and get healthy again, then I'll be back at it to finish it off!

i feel you guys, my schedule is out of whack, im an owl so i usually study from 8 at night to 4 in the morning and wake up late morning, straight to lunch.lol. and just do whatever. I have no idea why i can't concentrate when the sun is out. I like the feeling that i'm the only person studying while everyone else is asleep, which isn't true according to sdn. you guys are crazy, too. lol.

oh god help us all.

I'm a night owl myself. The darkness and quietness at night REALLY helps me concentrate and I do great.

Since my last post on this thread, I did an RC test on Topscore. Happy with a 21. Wish it would go up higher. I feel like my right eye is about to fall out of its socket. I've been studying for like 6 hrs today too. Ehhhhhh my eyeeeee
