Hello,

I'm taking the DAT this upcoming June (ideally sometime in mid June) as well as applying to dental school. I've taken the DAT once before using the Kaplan course and my score was not where I need it. However, I believe my score had more to do with my study habits than the course itself. My question is, what study guides do you all recommend most? I looked at the Sample DAT study schedule thread and according to my math, that would cost about $440 for the material 😱! To get the Kaplan online material again would cost me $300 for the retake fee. I have the Blue book & all the other materials that came with the class. Should I buy the Kaplan course again or use that money for other guides instead?

Here's the cost breakdown that I came up with:
Kaplan BB (have it)
Cliff's AP Bio ($10 in Amazon)
DAT destroyer + math ($200)
Crack DAT PAT software ($130)
Chad's Chem Videos ($30)
DAT Achiever ($70) or Top Score ($60)
Kaplan ($300 for retake fee)
Crack the DAT Ultimate Bundle ($329 in Amazon)


I'll have a little over a month to study and I'll put in 8+ hours everyday. Which of these would be the MOST useful combo for the best price?

Don't do Kaplan again. It focuses more on test taking strategy and less on materials than I would have liked . Since you already took it the course once, there is nothing you would gain from retaking it. You would have access to Kaplan tests and quizzes, but IMO Achiever and Topscore are better practice test materials. Save yourself money and buy other study materials. I would go with...

The consensus is that TopScore is better than Achiever (Top Score is more accurate to the test, Achiever unnecessarily hard)
