DAT Studying Approach

Last time I took the DAT, I just read the Kaplan book and did the problems on a cd from Cliff Notes. I got AA17, TS19, PAT20. I'm taking the DAT again this August and this time I bought the DAT Destroyer...if I just focused on that book, is it enough to get at least 20 across the board? Your wisdom is greatly appreciated!

I made memory cards off the Biology section of the Kaplan book. I memorized them all and took a couple practice tests and that got me around a 20. I did the same with the other sections with Gen Chem and Orgo and got me roughly the same score. It's a lot of memory cards though.

I primarily used Cliffs, Kaplan, and Destroyer....got a 20 on all sciences, so its possible. However, on the real thing I didnt see many questions that were like destroyer at all, maybe just one that was really obvious.

*EDIT also I used topscore and acheiver as far as tests go, occasionally used other sources but the ones i mentioned above were what i used primarily

first of all, this post should be moved to DAT discussion forum.

and to answer your question, in order to get 20's all across the board, you will definately need more sources (although it will all depend on how much you remember from college courses and etc.)

many people recommend: DAT destroyer, DAT Achiever, Topscore, Cliffs BIO AP.
you need to spend good time researching through DAT discussion forum and find the information you need.

getting 20's all across is not easy to do and you need to be on top of your stuff

I used the Kaplan book as well as the DAT Destroyer and got a 20 TS. My friend used the same thing and got a 17 TS. It is hard to tell you exactly what you need to get 20's across the board but good luck!

hey I studied with destroyer only and got bio 19 gc 20 oc 22
I took it before without destroyer and got aa 17 so i think its sufficient. 😀
