First of all, I know there are polls and threads to which materials are best, I have used these to get an idea of what to use and now that I have chosen the materials I wish to use I am asking if they are adequate or overkill? Also, I am a sophomore and am planning on taking the DAT this upcoming summer, for those who care..

On to the materials..

Biology
Barrons AP Biology
Cliffnotes AP Biology

Organic and General Chemistry
Chad's Videos
Organic Chemistry as a Second Language I and II

PAT
CDP

QR
Math Destroyer

Other
DAT Destroyer
Topscore (or maybe DAT qvault or achiever??)

OK so all in all I am planning on getting..

Barrons AP Biology
Cliffnotes AP Biology
Math Destroyer
DAT Destroyer
CDP
Organic as a second language I and II
Chads Videos

and either Topscore, dat qvault, or achiever.. WHICH would yall say is best??

Also.. what do you use to prepare for the RC? just take the tests available on the other sources or get Crack Dat Reading??

and also which edition should i get of CDP?? Ace or King?

I thought I'd replied on here but I guess not. Definitely achiever is the best imo. It is a complete package and definitely bang for your buck. I'd get both Achiever and Top Score. Qvault isn't something I used (only did 3 free bio tests and they were pretty good).

Achiever is about twice as difficult as any DAT can be so if you can manage 18-19s on Achiever you're set for the real thing.

Also like the person above said, Baron's is a waste of time. If you want more than one bio book, get Schaum's. It is way more in depth than needed (even more than cliff's). Honestly though, between Cliff's, Destroyer and TS/Achiever you'll not really need more bio review.

Actually Barron's ap biology is a great book. The two users above are getting it confused with barons DAT review book, which has a lot of errors supposedly. But, Barron's ap biology is a great read. Just type in google "student doctor barron ap biology". People got great scores with the book. I actually read achiever is a confidence killer and unnecessary.

No I am talking about the Baron's AP Bio book and I didn't think it was too great. I also tried Schaum's and thought it was way too much detail so I chose cliffs. Of course as with all test prep each person's experience varies and if it worked for you or your friend, I am glad it did!

Achiever is overly challenging, and I mentioned that as well. I also gave a good benchmark of what a "good achiever score" is so the OP has some indication of what level it is at.

In my personal experience, Achiever was essential. It took every section of the DAT and made it harder...so much so that in the real test I was stunned at how easily the Sciences and PAT went by, lost concentration and got my lowest single score in RC right after the break. If you constantly remind yourself that Achiever ISN'T accurate regarding scores on the DAT, it is a really good prep tool and doesn't cost too much for what it offers.

I think Kaplan's blue book is pretty much the standard for all basic science you should include it in your review. For additional quality practice questions Topscore and the DAT Decoder helped me the most. You see alot of questions.

I would add Kaplan Blue Book and Datqault (its just bio). I would buy top score and achiever. The format of achiever is just like the real DAT. Also buy the 2009 paid ada test.

Good luck
