DAT taking it multiple times

so the max of taking the DAT is 3 times??...so ada wont let you register at all?? what if the DAT score was never sent to any of the schools. do they still get the old scores???

There is no max times you are allowed to retake. You do have to petition the ADA after your third time. You simply have to show a rejection letter from a school. For the fourth + time you retake, you are only allowed to retake 1x year. I think that certain schools have a maximum number policy but I'm not sure which schools do.

If you take the DAT more than three times, it is frowned upon. It will either look like you don't have what it takes to get in or that you're extremely unprepared.

And if you use the excuse that you just don't do well on standardized tests...well that doesn't look good for National Board exams even if you do get into dental school.

If a 4th or nth time to take the DAT is contemplated, maybe it is time to reflect and re evaluate the proposed course of action.

A USC rep just came to my school and told us they are implementing a 3 MAX DAT for your entire life. He also said that many other schools are beginning to implement this system.

actually this was my third time..so i am soo done!!>
my first time i took it, diidnt study much, i just wanted to see the difficulty of this test and damm guessed all the way.....
second time, didint use enough materials to study, took a trip to snowboarding for a week ...1week before the test......damm..i wish i didint do that...
i found this website after my second test. and didint know about 3X max...
and the third time i actually study my butt-off , QR killed it...
....so my actual me studying and owning my score, was at third try.
am i screwed or what!!

Apply with current scores. If you don't get in, file a petition or something to try for the fourth time.
