For those of you who have taken the DAT test with this whole notecard and permanent market setup, can you provide more details. For example, could you provide a description regarding the dimensions of your notecards and the make of your marker? I would ilke to play around with the materials a bit before I sit for the test so that there will be fewer surprises.

I searched for this in the forum but the results gave me hits that were too varied and indirect so I thought It'd be best to create a new thread. I apologize if I've added a repeated posts.

Took it last month. The markers are fine tip, they don't erase.

The boards are blue with grids. It's like regular white-paper sized. You can write on both sides. And can always ask for new boards.

Hope that helps clear it up!

Sheets were blue, 8.5" x 11", laminated on both sides, with 2/3's of the paper as a grid (similar to graph paper).

Markers are fine-tipped (ours were made by Staedtler), similar to those fine-tipped Sharpies.

Two sheets given for SNS/PAT, then can be swapped out during your 15 minute break for 2 more sheets. My testing center said I could swap them out at any time, however during a test you'd lose time.

Thank you ever so much, I am pleased to have additional information.

Did they care if you wrote on the sheets during the tutorial or traded one sheet out at a time during the test? I

My test center allowed writing during the tutorial and break, but I've heard other test takers at different locations have issues with that. If it helps you at all, the markers did erase with a little saliva on your finger. You could always go to your test center and ask to see the materials before your actual exam, I know other people who have done that!
