Ok I dont mean to be so negative in my subject, but I signed up to take the DAT for the third time. While studying to take the test I was accepted into a program. When I called the ADA testing service I was told that by no means are there any refunds. What a crock!!! I have spent thousands of dollars between AADSAS along with the DAT testing service and I am being told that I should not have signed up to take it. I cannot beleive how much of a money pit applying is. I know there is a huge pay off, but come on now, these costs are becoming outrageous! What about the poor shmucks that dont get in. Oh its just a couple of thousand thats all......ok its not a big deal if mom and dad are paying, but for those of us struggling you would think they would give us a break. Just wanted to vent. Sorry if I offended anyone.:scared:

that's awful!... but seemingly expected. 🙁

be careful that they don't count this as your last (3rd) test if you're not going to take it on that date!

good luck. 🙂

yea fortunately for me everything went almost as smooth as possible and it still cost a fortune..
sorry to hear.. but at least you got in somewhere... some ppl have to use all 3 chances for the DAT..

You got accepted! Congrats! You shouldn't be complaining, you should be celebrating! Stop being such a Debbie Downer...

Snowrider probably has no $$ left to go out and celebrate!

Like someone noted above, it's unfortunate but somewhat expected. It's certainly all about the $$ and not the applicant. You shell out all that money and AADSAS gives you attitude when you call to make sure all your information has been received. Better get used to it now though, I'm sure there's a lot more of this along the way.

Congrats on your acceptance!

Just wait till we have to deal with insurance companies :diebanana:

I think you should just go take it anyway for the hell of it. why waste the money? It can't possibly hurt right?

lol @ anti dentite video...very nice sig 👍

Nothing is free IMO

the fine print from Prometric testing services (who you take the DAT with) says that once you sign up, there are NO REFUNDS! Even if you want to change your testing date they charge another $10. The cost for the test keeps going up too. I took it and payed $170, and now one of my classmates is going to take it soon and he had to pay $190. I say that they are just as bad as the textbook companies.

text book companies are way way way worst

If you can, dispute the charges on your credit card. See what happens. Dont know what that will do to your credit rating though.

When you register for the DAT, they tell you that there are no refunds, and if you want to change the testing date, you've gotta pay up.

Definitely no surprises there...
