Should one go into the exam (the first try)thinking he/she can always take it again if it doesn't go well?

definitely be as prepared as possible the first time. Wouldn't want the stress of having to take it again, especially if you did very well in certain sections the first time because you never know if you can match those again.

I agree. You should prepare as well as you can the first time so you don't have to go through it again. Just do your best. Plus, all the schools have different rules regarding multiple test scores. Some take the best of 2, other combine, etc. If needed, of course, a retake is an option. IMO you should go in with the mentality it's a one time deal and prepare like that.

Would you go into a first marriage thinking that you could always divorce and try again?

No.

Study for the test like this is the one and only time you can take it. Statistics show that people tend to do worse the second time.
