Hi

I'm gonna choose my DAT exam date today and I need your advise

My GPA with + - // without + -
BCP: 3.73/3.7
Science: 3.78/3.76
Overall: 3.82/3.75

3 reference letters recieved and 1 is in-progress now
and my application is sent out yesterday

I'm planning to take DAT late July (July 26th or so)
Do you think if there is any difference taking DAT exam in late July or early August to get the first cylce interview?

I think that taking your DAT sooner would be better..however taking it late july isnt bad at all..

I actually took mine July 17th..and I get accepted to 9 out of the 12 schools I applied to..

So dont worry about taking it late july just make sure to do well on it.

Do you mind if I ask your DAT scores and which of 9 schools you got accepted?

My mother in law is the director of admission at a dental school. Can't tell you which one... Anyways I was talking to her about taking my DAT, she said it doesn't matter. The sooner you interview the better but if you take the DAT in early AUG and will feel better prepared, that is what you should do. You do want to interview sooner, but 2 weeks doesn't make a difference. You should take it before Fall starts. Good luck

Hey I'm basically in the same situation as you right now- I'm taking mine the 30th of July. I'd say take when you feel most ready- there is probably little difference between late July and early August.

Nice GPA btw!

July is plenty early. Schools will get the scores by around mid august. I took the DAT late august last year.
