DAT tom' and apparently I suck at RC-need help!

Ok, I need someones help/ advice as fast as possible cause my DAT is tom. I took 2 RC test from TS and scored 20 and 22 and thought I am all set. However, when I took the last one I scored 18. I thought it was cause I was tired, but now I did the kaplan online RC and didn't even have the time to finish it. 🙁
I think my method for search and destroy sucks cause I can't get it right and I end up being stuck on one question for 2 long. How do you guys use search and destroy? I first read the question and then start reading the passage which takes a long time because sometimes the questions are at the end of the passage... so i waste this whole time skimming the passage looking for this specific question and I end up running out of time at the end.
What would be a better way to do it? i am just frustrated I didn't think RC would be a big problem but apparently it is🙁
any advice would be great.... also, i ran out of tests to do for RC and don't have anything to practice with. Can someone share with me a kaplan practice test that he has on the computer? i just don't know what to do and I don't want to spend more $$ buying achiever just to practice for RC cause i am broke....

so looking at previous posts I have realized that what I was doing wrong was to try and read the whole passage until. I'd find the right answer. That seemed to work for some TS cause I knew alot about the subject but not when I have no idea what the passage is about. Should I just see the main words in the questions and look for them in the first and last lines of each paragraph?
any help would be great....

I think how well you do in this section depends mostly on the kind of passage you get. I got some really interesting passages about alligators, hearing and fungi, all of which were a delight to read and I got a 21. Others who get frapped or pianoed get <17 so I think you better just pray you get a good passage. 😀 I was getting 18-22 on the topscore tests and assuming you get good passages I think they are very similar in difficulty. I can't really suggest search and destroy only, you def. have to read the passages carefully first cause although my passages were awesome, there were still questions on tone and stuff unlike practice tests. I wouldn't worry if I was you, the passage you get is out of your hands but if your getting 18-20 on topscore you should def. get about that on the real thing as long as your not pianoed or frapped. best of luck to you!!
