i believe most d-schools accept DAT scores taken within 3 yrs.

actually some accept within 3 years, but there are some that only accept within 2 years, so this year I had a DAT from april 2005, and NYU and UOP told me that I have to retake my DAT and they wanted a 2 yrs old DAT, and then it was LLU that wants 2 yrs old, but they never noticed that my DAT was older, so you have to check with the school... good luck,.

Do they count Sept 2009 as the end date or they count year only..because I took in Nov 2006.. I think as long as my DAT score get in before Nov 2008 it should be fine?

I was just wondering about the same thing. And I couldn't find such 2-yr limit from NYU website and UoP website only says that "Preference is given to students who provide Dental Admissions Test scores no later than September and no older than 2 years." Probably not a strict requirement.

It's not told. I think all schools will take the 2006 test version.

UoP's requirement is strict, I assure you. However, some other schools are not as strict.

To OP, for UofP, you will need new scores, unfortunately.

So, are you saying that UoP goes by cycle years? If OP applied early in the cycle before Nov, it would technically meet UoP's "within 2 yrs" requirement, no?? 😕

I was told from Howard 2006 is too old.. and Columbia told me "less than two years" after they knew my DAT scores (basically I don't get what the guy trying to say..).. it's weird.. the guy from temple also asked me for DAT scores.. he didn't reply yet though.. I hope he won't give me another ambiguous answer as the guy from Columbia did.."less than two years" 👎

I'm sorry.. I meant Nov 2007 above. but never mind.. I somehow thought ur scores were fro 2005. never mind never mind...

And as for NYU, I just got an email from them saying:

We are accepting DAT scores dated from the year 2006 and later.

for the upcoming 08-09 cycle that is.

i looked at ~18 schools i'm interested in applying to, i believe 16 wanted it no more than 2 years old. i know tufts said 3 years is ok.

My DAT scores were about 3.5 years old when I applied, and it wasn't a problem. Just make sure you check with the director of addmissions. They can sometimes be more flexible than you think. If you have an unusual situation, they're pretty understanding about it.

I took the DAT in July 2005.

I submitted my aadsas for the this cycle on May18th 2007.

I have not had one school question my scores.

Your best bet is to contact the schools. Just call them up and ask them.

I just saw your profile and noticed that you got a rejection from UoP in March.. so maybe that's why they considered the scores were too "old" as they reviewed it rather later in the cycle?! which is obviously their fault!

Hey everyone.. I just checked the ADEA guide booklet.. A lot of schools will accept 2006 DAT 🙄 .... Temple only accept 2007 though
