So there is some good news to take away from this DAT attempt. Your general chemistry and Biology scores seem to be pretty competitive. The organic chemistry can use some improvement on, but overall your sciences were not bad. For most schools, the cutoff seems to be 15 in a single section, and some schools holding higher standards. So unfortunately you are going to have to retake to get your PAT, reading, and qr at least above that 15 mark. The other good news is there is plenty of room to show improvement in these areas. What study materials did you use, and are you and ESL student?

i used dat destroyer , it's great crack the math and pat was nt good for me , and i have a question for u if i apply with this scores there is any chance to get in somewhere ?

Well your GPA is excellent, obviously. However, at most schools they will not even look at your application if you have a score below a 15 on any individual section. A friend of mine was rejected for a 14 QR, with high scores on everything else from every school he applied to. He was interviewed but they grilled him on that score, and in the end, wasn't accepted. So I think you're definitely going to need to retake the exam and apply with new scores. I think the 19 TS is a little low to be considered competitive, and it would probably fall in the average section to be honest. Go through the destroyer a bunch of times again, it should definitely increase your OChem score by a good amount. In short, I think the only way to get in would be a retake. If you had 18s on those 3 low scores with your gpa I would say you would get some interviews, but not currently with those. Anyone else have some input?

what can i use to get much higher score on reading and math and PAT ?

hello
from what i hear from my friends who took it and did well use the destroyer for Ochem, chem and use math destroyer for math. for pat use Crack the pat. It's not the end of the world you can always retake it and score higher. concentrate on your weak points. ( reading math and pat). If you use the destroyer make sure you understand the solutions and go over it again and again until you master it.
if you have any questions regarding the QR you can post them here i'll be glad to help

i used crack the pat and math (i did all 10 tests ) still got 15 i dont know what i did wrong ! and also i dont know what to do about reading can any body help ?🙁

you probably got really nervous and freaked out. I think i had the same test as you and the top front end was tricky. Just do crack pat, but choose the random tests option. That will boost your score up. the good news is that you can't get painoed again. do reading comprehension tests with distractions around you and just practice on concentrating

Your GPA is perfect, but the RC, QR and PA scores are way too low. I would definitely shoot for that retake.

I can't say much about the sciences, a TS19 is a respectable score.
But your QR and PAT leads me to conclude that you didn't prepare at all for these. I mean what happened?

As far as reading goes, I think all this talk about piano passage freaked you out, so when you saw it, you collapsed mentally lol, don't worry about it, on the retake, you'll be fine, chances are you woun't get the piano passage again lol

Look I know your upset, just take the next 4 weeks off from EVERYTHING. Relax your mind, then start preparing again for the DAT.... This time around, focus all your energy into PAT and QR... I know you got Crack DAT PAT 10 test version, try to do it with this method (http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=675995), It might help you, I also started off with 17s on Crack, and ended up gettin 19-20s by 8th test....

As for the math section, I highly recommend MATH destroyer, if you master those 400+ problems in this book, your going to be MUCH better off, a lot better than a 13

Now the reading, I am the LAST person to give advice since I "winged it" on my dat. My strategy was simple, DON'T USE ANY METHOD, no search & destroy, no writting crap down, nothing, just let your instincts carry you through the answers.... I know this isn't the best advice, but I was SOOO sick and tired of always scoring 14-16's on my practice passages using those various SDN "methods" that I just gave up on them and decided to use my instincts.... I was either very lucky or my plan actually worked out, I got 19 on the real deal

Thanks alot my friend , i was thinking also about getting math destroyer , this is a good idea but i didnt get u what do u mean by just let your instincts carry you through the answers,, do u mean i should read all passage and then answer the questions ?

by the way u really read my mind , when i start reading section on the test and saw piano passage i just said that's it i am dead

and i just wanted remind u Iam the one that got 15, 16 , 19 on science , on top score , as u see i got much better on real dat , i got general chem 22!(15 top score ) , again thank u so much

I mean there is no strategy really. The process is simple, you have a passage with 1500 words (approx) in it and followed by 16-18 questions, find the answers to these questions... end of story lol Im sorry I know it sounds stupid as hell, but I think sometimes people are over thinking the "strategy" portion that its throwing them off their game plan.....

I don't exactly remember what i did (again, I didn't have a strategy), but I remember during my break period, on my scrap sheet I number 1 through 50.... And when I started the RC, everytime I would answer a question, I would scratch off that number with my finger.... that way at the end of the test, whatever number I didn't scratch off means I haven't answered it yet.

I remember for RC, the first thing I did was read the first 1-2 paragraphs before looking at the questions. After that, I went all over the place, either I read the first 5-6 questions, or read the next 10 questions and tried to only read the first + 2nd sentence of all the paragraphs after wards.... just no strategy at all lol
