Can someone please tell me that which study materials should I follow to study DAT and how to get 20+ on all sections.
I have only 1 month study time and I am not a Pre-dental student, I am a international dentist studying DAT just to complete requirements of NYU.
I studied Biology, chemistry 5 years back in my high school and now pretty blank about these sections. But I think I can manage Bio and chemistry and worried more about QR, PAT. Guys please throw some suggestions that what should I study and how should I study within a month. I already have kaplan blue book, cliff ap biology, barron's ap biology and few sample tests, chad's subscription, and planning to buy DAT destroyer 2008 ( 50 bucks) and CDP- 3 Test edition.
Please help how should start and from which source and what else do I need to get for DAT
😕😕:scared::scared:
Thanks

Spend more of your biology study time using Cliffs rather than Barrons, then use Destroyer to do practice questions. Also, don't you think you should get the Destroyer 2012 version? 2008 is 4 years out of date. Just saying. Start with Cliff's bio & Destroyer Bio as quickly as early you can...biology is memorization but you also want to be exposed to as many bio questions as possible.

For OC and GC, review your concepts and then get to Destroyer to practice. You'll get smacked down at first, but don't worry, just get up off the floor, beat on your chest, and understand the explanations in the answer section. That's what I did to get in the top percentile in GC and OC.

Reading - find a strategy (search & destroy, skim reading, reading questions then the story, etc.) and stick with it. You'll develop your skills along the way.

Not sure about the others -- Math & PAT. Sorry.

I am in the same boat...Doing DAT for the NYU....Bio I feel is kinda random..i hate the taxonomy questions......Destroyer and Chad ll guide you through chemi.......For math i d say math destroyer....its harder than the real thingy < i heard> but you wanna prepare for that so you can manage time.:idea:

PAT- definitely CDP......figure out which section is your weakness....For example TFE / pattern folding is definitely my Achilles heel. Focus on time and get the keyhole and cube counting ASAP so you can distribute the time elsewhere. KBB is really easy. Start with that and move on to CDP....

I studied from 8 until 5 each day for 3 months. I suggest buying crack the pat and do an hour pat each day. In addition read barrons/cliffs once every week. Also, do math destroyer at least 3 times before the test. In addition, do destroyer and orgo destroyer 3 times as well. Try doing full length tests, achiever, topscore, and qvault. Basically, the more practice you get, the better you will do. Best of luck to you!

Destroyer to do practice questions. Also, don't you think you should get the Destroyer 2012 version? 2008 is 4 years out of date.

Getting the new version of specifically the destroyer is absolutely crucial! You can learn all the sciences from the destroyer. It is an extremely good representation of the material on the actual dat. For mathe reading and pat I used crack the dat and did really well in all the sections. Good luck!

m in d same boat with you......we have less time...but no option....good luck..

Try Achiever, Kaplan or Destroyer. When you buy Destroyer, try ti get the latest version. It bas most up to date problems. Also, to get more help in Orgo, try Odyssey and Organic chem as a second language by Klein. For Bio, I would reccommend Cliffs or Schaums outlines to review. Good luck.

They do accept it...provided ur done with the boards first.....its a different swimming pool😱

I dont think we can tell you HOW to study, because everyone learns differently. You should focus on your weaker area's first of all. Also, I would put the most time into the sciences and PAT. PAT is one part which comes naturally to some, and for others it takes a lot of practice. If I was in your shoes I would go through two of the sciences and PAT everyday. Good luck to you!
