My verbal skills have never been that great so I wanted to start reading passages and such early. I wanted to look for a DAT book that contained verbal practice passages only but couldn't find one. So I was thinking of buying a MCAT vebal practice book to use instead. How similar are the two verbal sections? Would it be ok to use the MCAT verbal prep to prepare for the DAT verbal?

What verbal section? Are you referring to the reading comp section?

see here we go again.

It isn't a verbal section, it is simply reading comp.
Oh and it is the DAT, not DAT's. FYI

I was talking about the DAT RC section. I was wondering how that compared with the reading section of the MCAT

No clue. I've never been pre-med or even considered it. You may want to move this thread to the DAT & MCAT forums and see if anyone there has taken both tests.

The MCAT has many more passages (7 I think), with fewer questions after each passage. The DAT has far less passages, but with many more questions after each one.
If you just want practice reading long (and sometimes boring) passages and answering questions, then the MCAT passages could help you with that. Just keep in mind that the formats between the MCAT and DAT are a little different.

I assume it might help, it might help you get better with breaking down the passages. I have no idea what the MCAT looks like, but I doubt it will hurt you to use the practice book. You never know, you might even pick up some valuble tricks and demolish the RC section. I say go for it, you have nothing to lose. Good luck!🙂
