I think I go thru phases with how I feel about studying for this test. One minute I'm feeling up for it, another minute I'm feeling completely burntout.

I'm a good student, but this test is getting to me. It really is. Actually, I don't think it's this test per se. I think I'm just tired of school in general. I may just throw in the towel, find a job somewhere and get married now instead of later.

But I feel like I can't do that now after working so hard. After staying up late so many times studying for exams, making so many personal sacrifices......and i've done well in my prerequ. courses. all that can't be for nought...

Well, no matter what you do in life, nothing will ever be easy. If you keep running from your obstacles then you will never suceed in life no matter what you do. Its going to be hard right now, with all the studying you are doing and double the amount of studying after you get into dental school but just think about all the benfits you will get after you are done with dental school. It will be all worth it, just keep working hard!!

You can do it!!!👍 👍

I hear you lonelysol...I think i'm just burnt out. You know I've been studying for this test. But, yeah you are right. Nothing will ever be easy. I think I might get married first though before dental school next year. I was thinking about doing it during or after dental school, but I don't see why I need to wait anymore as long as that person is understanding and as long as I don't have babies....sorry...i'm not in a joking mood this evening....

if you were to see this DAT forum during the summer, you'd see that you are not alone...even I made a thread about this when i was studying, about being totally burnt out, and SO many people replied in agreement.

the exam is draining, thats for sure...what you're going through is normal.

just stick to it...because when you get those shiny 20s it will ALL be worth it, and it wont even seem like you put that much effort into it.

gluck!

Yea, if getting married will make you and ur loved one happy then i dont see why you should wait, as long as he is understanding that if you go to dental school, there will be very little time for him. You are smart!, you will be fine!!! Good luck, and keep up the late night studying, thats what I've been doing, and its hard but it'll be worth it!!

Get a job scrubbing toilets for minumum wage and no bathroom breaks. Then you'll all the motivation in the world! Or you can just be like me and work as a rent-a-cop on weekends and chase drunken homeless people out of parking garages. Going to work every weekend gets me so pumped up to study mon-fri.

LMAO no offense to you poc91nc but thats a funny post because its so true. Or working in a medical insurance company like me for crap wage and have the boss breathe down your neck and make your life a living hell.

Haha...yeah, but in all seriousness, we all need something to light a fire under our a$$es from time to time. My crap job is the glue that kept me together for years. A weekly reminder of what its like in the real world. Every shift is a freakshow....especially on those nights with the butt naked siamese twins.

haha this is exactly what i did (altho i didn't study for the DAT while i was working there) i waited tables at the olive garden through out high school and college, but that job REALLY motivated me to study/become something. my tolerance for the DAT is also flickering so i think i'm getting this job at a seafood place. i need a reminder
